Why Audit Trails Matter
Export compliance regulations require maintaining detailed records of all export-related activities. Arcliance automatically logs all actions for audit purposes, helping you demonstrate due diligence.
What Gets Logged
Transaction Events
- Transaction creation, updates, and deletions
- Status changes (submitted, approved, rejected)
- Approval actions with approver identity
- Document attachments and modifications

- Screening requests and results

Audit Log Details
Each audit log entry includes:

| Resource | What was affected (transaction ID, entity, etc.) |
| Details | Before/after values, justification notes |

Accessing Audit Logs
- Navigate to Audit & Logs > Audit Log
- Use filters to narrow by date range, user, action type, or resource
- Click any entry to view full details
- Export logs as CSV for external analysis or retention
Retention Policy
Audit logs are retained according to regulatory requirements:
- ITAR records - 5 years minimum
- EAR records - 5 years from export date
- Denied party screening - 5 years
Arcliance automatically retains logs for the required periods. Contact support to configure extended retention if needed.
Immutability
Audit logs cannot be modified or deleted by any user, including administrators. This ensures the integrity of compliance records and meets regulatory requirements for tamper-proof documentation.
